Toyota Interactive PDF
The design and creation of a interactive PDF document
Toyota of North America needed a more effective way to distribute detailed product information to its dealers. Dealers required a solution that allowed them to browse quickly and access critical information anytime. Our team collaborated closely to create an interactive PDF that could be emailed, downloaded, and accessed offline, giving both Toyota and its dealers a flexible and user friendly tool.

The Process We began by gathering all necessary content from the client and clarifying information hierarchy. Following brand standards for both Toyota and Lexus, we produced multiple iterations of home pages, data sheets, and tooltip designs. Through continuous feedback and refinement, we aligned on a visual direction that satisfied brand requirements and user needs. Once the core layouts were approved, we expanded the system across additional pages and components. A major focus of the project was improving the overall user experience through functional prototypes that combined responsive layouts, wireframes, and optimized user flows. I developed reusable design templates that streamlined production and reduced turnaround time for new pages. We also experimented with various tools and workflows before finalizing the build in Adobe Creative Suite. This allowed us to test layout behavior, visual styles, and interaction models before committing to a polished system. Features The tooltips were designed to simplify browsing by breaking information into clear sections and subsections. A search field was added to help users navigate the large volume of content more efficiently. Once all designs were approved, we built interactive elements including navigational buttons that made the PDF feel very similar to a lightweight website. Throughout the process, we tested visual directions, interaction patterns, and layout variants to ensure the final product was both intuitive and visually consistent. Each PDF was crafted to fit its respective brand identity, incorporating the unique tone, typography, and color system of Toyota and Lexus.
Outcome The final interactive PDF delivered a clean, intuitive, and highly accessible experience that significantly improved information delivery for dealers. The client was extremely pleased with the final product, noting how easy it was for their team to use, share, and maintain. The reusable templates and streamlined workflow also made ongoing updates far more efficient for their internal team, saving time and reducing production costs. The project ultimately strengthened dealer communication and provided Toyota and Lexus with a scalable tool they plan to use across future product releases.
